Self Harm

There is a girl
And she self harms
She carves her letters in her arms

A cry for help
That no one see's
A pool of blood beneath her feet

Her skin so pale
And bathed in scars
She doesn't know she's gone too far

She cannot scream
She cannot cry
her throat is sore, her eyes are dry

Her laughs, all forced
Her smiles fake
She tells herself she's a mistake

She's carving words
She cannot say
To her this is the only way

There is a girl
And she self harms
She carved her sorrows in her arms

Her quivering form
So helpless and frail
She's leaving behind her only trail

Her flesh torn
With open wounds
She knows her time is coming soon

Another grave
Will soon be dug
And all she wanted was a hug

An act of kindness
A word of praise
She waits alone, an empty gaze

There is a girl
And she self harms
She carved her pleas into her arms

Another pang
Within her chest
Eventually she will finally rest

Not her family
Nor her friends
Can see her pain...until it ends

You'd never know
Her beating heart
Had been so ruthlessly torn apart

There is a girl
And she self harms
She carved her dreams into her arms

A perfect being for a perfect world

Another slash
Another yelp
Why bother screaming out for help?

There is a girl

She carved this letter in her arms

A smile crept
Upon her lips
This life, she knows will not be missed

There is a girl......

There is no flesh upon her arms......
